Help I don't know what I am doing...
That’s why I am here babe! You've probably had enough with forms by now, so ideally a 10 minute chat prior to any trial is a good use of everyones time. I’ll discuss your current skin/ makeup routine, likes/dislikes, wedding theme, style icons etc. a few shared photos is always a good idea too. Pinterest is perfect for this, if you are lacking inspiration feel free to check out my boards!
Trials are normally conducted on my premises, but I can travel to your home for a trial if it’s not possible for you to come to me. This is for free within a 10 mile radius or at 45p per miles up to 20 miles. The time allows for more than one look to be trialled if need be, whatever it takes to ensure you are 100% happy.
What normally happens on the wedding day?
Wedding makeup and hair can be conducted in the comfort of your own home, a hotel or onsite at the venue. It is a good idea to get ready nice and early when things are not too hectic, you should ideally be sat there with a drink in hand and some lovely tunes playing in the background with your nearest and dearest nearby. Lots of people will want time with you on the big day, so take a while for you and a few select others to get ready in a calm and relaxed environment. It is likely that you will need to allow some photographic time prior to the ceremony, so ideally all makeup and hair will finish at least one hour prior to travelling to your destination. Conversely, it's your day and your rules so just let me know what you would like to happen and we will make it a reality.
I'm nervous, can I bring someone with me to the trial?
Yes of course, please feel free to bring someone for a second opinion if you wish, i’ll even make them a tea!
What products do you use?
I use an amalgamation of brands including: Chanel, Charlotte Tilbury, IGK, Loreal, MAC, Nars, Percy and Reed, YSL etc. but from experience I can corroborate it's not what you use, it’s how you use it. Different products suit different people. Where possible, I am happy to source the products for clients to keep to use on the day for touch up's and thereafter. If you have any specialist requirements such as only to use vegan or cruelty free products please just flag.
What do I need to bring?
Everything/Nothing. If you’ve accessories already organised please bring these with you, veil, headpiece etc. If you don’t have them yet no worries but please flag in your trial as not all surprises are good ones!
Prior to the trial
I'd ask to be send a photo of the dress, your current hair and lovely face. Your desired look(s) for hair/makeup and to add me to your Pintrest boards so I can get a really good feel as to what your day is all about. I take my prep quite seriously so please note that any added pictures less than 24 hours to trial may not be noted.
What do I pay and when?
I ask for 50% non- refundable trial deposit to secure the date. Deposits are in place to safeguard my livelihood and any refunds or amendments are completely at my discretion.
A 50% non-returnable booking fee is needed to secure your Wedding booking, which is best paid immediately after the trial no later than 7 days after. In exceptional circumstances, where my diary allows I will try to accommodate a change of date for any emergencys but as a one woman band there is no guarantee. This is why Wedding insurance is a must! The remaining balance for services will be due 7-14 days prior to your wedding.
What if I don't like it?
That's why you have a trial, there is no pressure whatsoever to book following a trial. It's a chance to explore and experiment. You may just use the session to pick up some tips on what suits you and what products you could use to recreate the look yourself on the big day. I will not be upset if you want more/less of something, I always use the “tip the hairdresser then go home and cry” analogy - there is absolutely no need I don’t bite and it’s my job to make you feel the best version of you .
Please note I carry the requisite public liability insurance, you should always check any supplier is insured and of course have that all important wedding insurance!
Please make any allergies or health issues known upon booking.
